'There is no substitute for experience' as the saying goes ! Therefore, we thought that we would share our 35+ years budgerigar experience, with you !
So, what's the best way of doing this. Well, firstly, we are always available to answer your queries and offer advice, wherever we can. Secondly, we have many visitors wanting to know how we do things. So, we thought that we would write this article, detailing what we do in our birdroom and what we do for our birds. We will keep it simple, without going into long explanations and disease names etc. etc........
The Birdroom
Keep it clean. We appreciate that this is not always easy for everyone, but by doing so, you and your birds will benefit so much. We use a solution of 1 cup of bleach and 1 cup of white vinegar, (added seperately) to a 1 gallon bucket of hot water. This solution is used everywhere, ..... floors, walls, surfaces, cages, etc .. Not only does it clean, but it fights against the diseases that cause 'french moult'.
Keep your birdroom ventilated. Fresh air circulation is vital for you and your birds health. Whenever the sun is shining, open wire...
