The Budgerigar Society of Ireland is very progressive and promotes the hobby of budgerigar breeding to all in the island of Ireland.

Membership is continually growing from the whole island of Ireland, the U.K. and Europe.

The society is associated/affiliated to THE BUDGERIGAR SOCIETY and THE WORLD BUDGERIGAR ORGANISATION.

Members enjoy a quarterly 'Newsletter', which is full of 'up to date' information and is supported by many of the world's top breeder's.

World Class Members

The society has a long history stretching back over 50 year's and member's of this society have been proud to receive the honour of 'Best Breeder in Show' at the B.S. World Championship Show, on more than one occassion.   The society is proud to have within it's membership, World class breeder's today as well.   Take a look at some of the birds on the society's website !

The Young Stock Show of the Year & Bird Trade Fair !

The society's 'Young Stock Show of the Year', was a day not to be missed !   This year's show was held on Saturday 6th June '09 at Ballybay, Co.Monaghan, as last year.   However, as the show has grown, and this year incorporated a BIRD TRADE FAIR, it was held in the main function room of the RIVERDALE HOTEL.   Judges engaged for the show, were two of the best in the world ..... Ron Pearce and Rick Watts from England.   They awarded Best in Show to Mark & Tony Rodgers, Best Opposite Sex in Show to Eileen O'Hanlon, and Best Nest Feather Bird in Show to Eileen O'Hanlon.   Also over from England for the show, was a group of breeders from a specialist society.   They spent the weekend in Ballybay and had a great time !   As last year, the show included, seminar's, bird and equipment sales, more new trophies, ..... you name it - this show had it ! and all in a relaxed atmosphere .  The BIRD TRADE FAIR attracted Equipment & Seed Suppliers from the U.K., and Traders from all over the Island of Ireland, who sold at TRADE PRICES for that day ONLY.   This was an opportunity to stock up at U.K. trade prices and BUY or SELL BIRDS.   However, if you missed it, DON'T MISS THE NEXT TRADE FAIR at the Carrickdale Hotel, Dundalk/Newry, County Louth, on SATURDAY 12th SEPTEMBER '09.   Sales/Trade Tables are ONLY 10 euro each.   Put the date in your diary now ..... Saturday 12th September '09 !!!   DON'T MISS IT !!! 

This Year's Annual Open Club Show, will be held on Saturday September 12th, in the Superb Carrickdale Hotel, Dundalk/Newry. A Club Show Dinner will be taking place on the eve of the show in the Hotel, with Guests of Honour, Harry Hockaday & Alister Easdon. Alister is Judging the show, and Harry is our Guest Speaker on the day of the show. A BIRD TRADE FAIR has also been arranged, and this will also take place on the day of the show. Traders from the U.K. are coming accross the water for the show. The PARROT SOCIETY IRELAND are also having their NATIONAL SHOW as an integral part of the B.S.of I.'s day of events ! DON'T MISS SATURDAY 12th SEPTEMBER @ THE CARRICKDALE HOTEL, DUNDALK/NEWRY !!!!! THIS SHOW HAS IT ALL !!!!!
